Dorothy Gale And The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz

Based on the books of L. Frank Baum and his 'Land of Oz' series, this great American Fairytale and coming-of-age road trip has been thrillingly rebooted for a new generation by long time collaborator Hamish Steele.

At the centre is a young teenage heroine for our times called Dorthy Gale. She is savvy but also vulnerable having bounced around a foster care system for far too long. On the cusp of womanhood, she crash lands into Oz, a tornado ride away from the real world, where every speck is spellbound, which just adds to the crazy confusion. Objects and animals talk and the laws of physics can be different depending on where you are. Luckily she has some characters looking out for her and to keep her company. Some are well known like Scarecrow and Tin Woodman, others less so, like the witches, Locasta and Villina.

Full of unusual characters in a fantastical land, Dorothy Gale and the Wonderful Wizard Of Oz is the rarest of TV treats: an irresistible everybody-on-the-sofa adventure bursting with heart and humor, diversity, mortal danger and rousing victory. It has been designed as a 12 x 22mins TV series for the whole family, and is currently in co-production with CBBC and Boat Rocker. Available as a Bible, Pilot Script, and Animation Test.
