Marilyn Myller

A year in the making, this six minute stopmotion short features the voice of well-loved British comedian Josie Long, thousands of hand carved sculptures, countless foam puppets and beautiful in-camera, long-exposure light trickery.

It follows Marilyn Miller, an artist who works tirelessly to create statuettes; through them she masters her materials and commemorates various things in her life. Her story and her musings consider what it means to be creative.

Beautifully textured with light and sound, the short mesmerised festival awards panels from SXSW to Sundance, winning at the Edinburgh Film Festival, British Animation Awards and Melbourne International Film Festival, amongst others.

Produced by Blink Industries and Hornet Films, the Bafta-award winning director Mikey Please created a thoughtul piece of work that touches upon something very real with its poetry of stop motion.
